The Minneapolis Department of Civil Rights is excited to welcome Aaron Brink Johnson to our team! Aaron was the in the second cohort of Urban Scholars during the summer of 2013 and worked with former City Council member Meg Tuthill. As an Urban Scholar, Aaron impressed many City leaders with both his innate leadership abilities and infectious personality.
The following year Aaron accepted a temporary position with the Employment Equity Division. Aaron assisted in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of Urban Scholars programming. He also coordinated partnership activities with both external and internal stakeholders that helped achieve the goals of the Urban Scholars program.
This month Aaron accepted a full-time position with the Department of Civil Rights, Equity Division. Aaron has a deep commitment to racial equity and demonstrated leadership experience. He has extensive experience in community outreach and working with the African, African American, Hmong, and Latino communities. A strong leader and experienced employee, Aaron is a great asset to the Minneapolis Department of Civil Rights. Congratulations Aaron, we’re excited to have you join our team!
Camille Maddox, a native of North Minneapolis, was in the first Urban Scholars cohort in the summer of 2012. Camille was assigned to work in Community Planning and Economic Development. She came back to Urban Scholars the next summer and was assigned to the Department of Civil Rights, Contract Compliance Division. During the summer of 2013, Camille learned a great deal about Contract Compliance.
Since then, she obtained a bachelors degree in Economics from Emory University, graduating summa cum laude in 2013. Camille recently completed her Master of Public Affairs degree at the University of Texas at Austin. Camillie served as a Barbara Jordan Public Affairs fellow and Co- Chair of the Barbara Jordan National Public Policy Forum. This month Camille accepted a full-time position with the Department of Civil Rights, Contract Compliance Division. Undoubtedly, Camille is a great addition to the Minneapolis Department of Civil Rights and we’re excited to have her join our team!
