02 - Director Velma Korbel introduces Assistant Director Michael K. Browne

Velma Korbel, Director of the Minneapolis Department of Civil Rights, introduces the new head of the Civilian Police Review Authority, Assistant Director Michael K. Browne.

AD Browne Outlines the CRA Ordinance Proposal

AD Browne presented a comprehensive analysis of the new ordinance and described how community feedback improved the proposal.

MPD, media, and local community members provide public comment

Members of the media, the Minneapolis Police Department, and the local community listened to the proposal and provided public comment.

The proposal will now be brought before the entire City Council on Sept. 21, 2012.

The PSC&H Committee supported the proposal, with three votes in favor from Council President Johnson, Committee Chair Samuels and Council Member Hofstede. Council Member Gordon voted against the proposal, Council Member Hodges abstained from voting, and Council Member Tuthill was not present for the vote.
The proposal will now be brought before the entire City Council on Sept. 21, 2012.
